“In order to Succeed we must first believe we can.”
The Hero That Lives In All of Us
I know, I know what your thinking – “The Hero That Lives In All of Us”? Really? Sounds a lot like I just regurgitated what Aunt May said to Spider-man and made it my title. But I will have you know that I came up with this title myself! I then published it and realized that Spider-Man had that same quote and all of a sudden my entire article became cheesy. I hope you don’t judge me too much for it. Oh well, onward to more important matters!
Why Do We Lack Confidence?
I want to address the question of why do people lack confidence? Nobody is born with low confidence. You can make the claim that some people are born with more confidence than others and that’s fine but the type of low confidence I am talking about is when your mind is always flooded with negative thoughts, you are constantly distracted by what other people think of you and you live in fear of failure so much so that its hard for you to even function. This is what I call debilitating low confidence and this is what I suffered from. It is hard for me to imagine a person who is born with so little confidence he or she can barely function.
It’s Not Your Fault
If you are this type of person I am here to tell you – its not your fault. If you think back in your life I can almost guarantee there was a point in your life when you weren’t always stuck in your head and when you were a little more positive. So what happened? What happened to the confident person that you were before? Absolutely nothing – he is still there. He is just buried upon the things you were taught growing up or perhaps a tragic experience that happened to you but I want you to know that its not your fault. I’m not saying that you should point fingers at your parents or your teachers but the main point of this article is to tell you that the person you want to become has always been in there.
There is still hope but you will need to work hard to find that true self within you. That self who doesn’t care what others think. That self who believes in himself. That self who isn’t held back by negative thoughts. That self who doesn’t believe in the words of “I can’t”. I believe that person lives within all of us and I am here to help you unlock that person.
Have a great day!
