What Is Subliminal Messaging?
Every day we are influenced by advertisements, media and images all around us. Often telling us we’re not good looking enough, small enough, big enough or good enough. These negative images surround us on a daily basis and it can really hurt our self-image without us even realizing it.
Subliminal messaging was first explored around the 1850’s. Around the 1950’s researchers began discovering that by flashing quick messages on a screen they could influence people’s behaviors and desires. The messages were so brief that peoples conscious mind didn’t even notice them but their subconscious mind was still affected.
These messages can be anywhere from a phrase, a picture or even a sound. In fact, they found that people are more vulnerable to negative subliminal messages than positive subliminal messages. Advertising companies in the UK were even banned from using subliminal messaging in their advertisements.
Subliminal messaging does make sense however. It is biologically in our advantage to quickly read negative messages in people’s emotions or even events before they happen. In order to survive we need to produce the fight or flight response and so when an ‘image’ appears whether it be a twitchy bush or not. It could mean life or death if we don’t notice it for even a tenth of a second. But does subliminal messaging effect these natural biological triggers? The studies, I believe, are inconclusive.
How Does Subliminal Software Work?
If you never heard of subliminal software it has become all the rage in the self-development world. Subliminal software takes the idea that our mind is being negatively programmed by society and flips it. It is quite simple. It reprograms your unconscious brain by flashing subliminal messages on your computer screen. These messages are often in text but could be in images as well. It flashes so fast you can’t even see it. It does a little better job at hiding subliminal messages than Disney movies do but sometimes you may consciously catch a message from here to there if you’re looking in the right place but it’s not distracting at all.
The process of using it is really quite simple as well. You just install the software on your computer. Subliminal Power 2 comes with over 400 ready-made affirmations which range from anywhere from health, wealth, confidence, creativity, overcoming phobias and everything in between. I saw one affirmation about overcoming the fear of the dark. You can also create your own if you so desire.
Other things it comes with is:
Brainwave Music: This is music to ‘boost your mind’ with audio recording.
Brain Training: Gives you mind-training videos
Subliminal Movies: Messages, photos and sounds are added into your own inspirational videos.
Honestly I just skipped these bonuses. I was more interested in whether or not the subliminal messages really worked or not. So I can’t say for sure whether the bonuses are any good.
Here are some reasons why people would use this software:
- Quit smoking: Sometimes quitting smoking has less to do with the nicotine than the act of smoking itself. Having brief messages flashed on screen may help control these cravings.
- Weight loss/diet change: Subliminal messaging can subtly motivate you to hit the gym or choose that salad over that pizza. We need all the help we can get right?
- Overcoming past negative programming: We may not even know it but we all have past negative programming which can be unwired. Some of us may have had some very negative influences in the past. By flipping it we can change our lives!
- Self Improvement: Well, don’t we all want this? Flashing positive subliminal messages on your screen will subconsciously motivate you and push you to improve yourself!
Does It Actually Work?
Here’s the biggie, and I am sure you are here for the answer to this question. To my surprise there are a lot more reviews of people stating it has indeed worked for them. In my experience I have indeed noticed changes in my confidence, personality and maybe even my creativity. But can I give this software all the credit? No I can’t. I also read books, I also listen to books in my car, I surround myself with positivity, I also overcome fear a lot. How can I possibly say without a doubt that this software is helping me? It could absolutely be helping me. But the tricky thing about these products which claim to improve you through your unconscious mind is that you don’t know if its working or not! It’s your unconscious. That is actually the scariest and most awesome thing in the world.
It’s scary because it could not be working at all and you just wasted your money and you wouldn’t even know. In fact, you would probably think it’s working – You would probably convince yourself it’s working just so you don’t have to face the fact that you just wasted your money. You then buy other products from this company and worse yet, leave good reviews so other people buy the same product that could or could not be working and you have no idea.
On the flip side, the awesome thing is that it can literally change your life without you even trying. If this does actually work it could literally be life changing. How awesome would it be to overcome fear, be more creative and confident just from staring at your computer screen? Since this is an honest review, just like all my other reviews. I will give my honest opinion.
I have no idea if this works or not. It could or could not be working. The real truth is. Nobody knows if this actually works for them. They can’t know.
Despite that I think it is worth giving it a shot because I do believe that you can subtly reprogram the subconscious mind. It is no secret that every day in our lives our subconscious is slowly being programmed by the media, advertisements and other people without us even realizing it. I also do believe in incantations and positive affirmations. So if you want my opinion on the matter what I will say it this. From the research, reviews and knowledge that I know, I personally believe that subliminal messaging does work. But I am not 100% sure.
In conclusion, the science behind it seems to be legit. Studies have been done on subliminal messaging. It also does have a lot of positive reviews. For only $47 I would give it the benefit of the doubt and at least try it out. I can’t honestly tell you with 100% certainty whether this works or not. I don’t think anyone really can either. It also definitely won’t change your life. But if something that costs only $47 which has been researched and it says it can make you a better, more positive person – why not invest $47 dollars on yourself?
In conclusion, maybe it’s worth the buy. I am skeptical but it’s up to you whether you want to invest the money or not. I think what it really comes down to is whether you believe subliminal messaging works or not. I gave you the studies for you to draw your own conclusions. If you would like to read more in depth about these studies I have posted an article on the Research of Subliminal Messaging. Maybe that article can help you make a better, informed decision.
